Today, at Sock Sunday, Sue mentioned she had her 5 year old granddaughter try on her sock to check the length. Her granddaughter asked, if Sue could just knit the sock a little longer so, it would cover her toes. cute story.
It reminded me, of spring vacation, Nicole was 8. I was staying with Nicole, during the days, while her Dad was at work. I decide to introduce Nicole to loom knitting. So, we started a hat for Nicole, finished it the next day. That evening, all of us went to dinner and Jeff asked Nicole, if she finished her hat. She proudly said yes. Jeff asked why didn't she wear it, well, she didn't want to wear it, because it was raining. precious, wanting to protect her new hat.

Greg Mortenson
Mount Vernon welcomes Greg Mortenson, author of 3 Cups of Tea and Stones for Schools. I have read both books. His lecture was inspiring, too. This was the first event, I have attended with a sign language interpreter.

Maybe a new adventure
In 2009, I attended sock summit in Portland, Oregon. Well, the big event is happening again, this year. The sponsors have the big league instuctors signed up, and put out a call for "up and comer" knitting instructors. I emailed my application, this morning. Their response date is February 1st, so I have my toes crossed until then.

Snow on Sunday
We have woke up to a white lawn. It is wet snow, continuing to fall. Meggen and I went for a snowy walk.
We watched the Seattle football game, yesterday. Seattle, the underdogs upset last years Superbowl winners. It was very exciting game.

First Work Week
I have finished my work week of 2011.
Mount Vernon got hit with a hail storm a week ago, then the temperatures stayed cold. Parking lots were a icy mess in town. The rain started last night, and the ice is gradually going away. Gary went for a massage in town, this morning. He said the ice was gone.
I have some knitting on my agenda for the weekend. Sounds like a good weekend to me.

Happy New Year
Happy Second Anniversary to my husband, Gary
I am plan to keep blogging. I do not have a blog goal at this time. It has been random, yet, I have lots of memories of Nicole to share. My more recent tattoo, the black alpaca, Nicole and I witnessed a birth of a baby alpaca, which was black and female over her spring break in 2007.
Time is a precious commodity, so I tend to be selective with my time usage.
I hope 2011 is a healthy year, as health is so very important. Remember to go for walks, enjoy nature and live life.
