Chuckanut Alpacas

The property of Chuckanut Alpacas has been sold.  I liked seeing all the alpacas in the different pens, but they have been moved.  I hope they found good homes, as it looks empty without the alpacas.

Knit Fit 3

Knit Fit is in it's third year and I have attended all three years.
Each year, I have taken at least one class.
And of course, made a purchases or two in the market.
The market had more vendors than last year and was nice.
A couple skeins followed me home.
Maybe next year, I will take a picture or two.

Migration

On October 27, I saw a field full of snow geese.  They were about 10 miles north of their winter home.
On November 2, I saw some trumpeter swans.  We will see them in the fields between home and town until spring time.

New Art

And it is not skin art.  It is a colored pencil drawing.  The yarn shop participated in the Art Walk series, this summer.  This was one of the featured pieces in the September.  Now, the challenge is to find the right wall space at home.

Single Sock

Not single sock syndrome.
Single sample socks for the yarn shop.
Top one was knit from the toe-up
Second sock for knit from the cuff down.

Today

Gary and I went to lunch at the Edison Café.  I had a most beautiful Cobb Salad, I took a picture with my phone, (I thought).  As I was going to post the photo here.  Gary took a risk and tried the African Peanut Soup (and liked it) with his Rueben sandwich.  He said the soup went well with the sandwich, too.

Debbie Bliss

Wednesday evening, Debbie Bliss was at WildFibers to speak and show her new Autumn knitting pieces.  We fit 50 chairs into the shop and staying on the British theme, ice tea, jam tarts and cucumber sandwiches were served.  Wednesday was a cool, rainy day, people were able to try on sweaters.  Debbie was at Stitch and Pitch as well.

Stitch and Pitch in Seattle

Picked her up on Friday, had 12 miles at that time.  Still under 200 miles and undecided about her name.  Her name is Zippy, the nav system is named Purl.

Oso Slide

Oso is about 35 miles from us.  We don't know anyone involved in the slide.  I do know some people, who know people that were in the tragic slide.
Our local vet clinic had a couple dogs, that required surgeries from injuries in the slide.  We donated to the clinic for the dogs' care, rather donating to the big corporations.  One dog had a compound fracture, the other dog had some major abrasions.  They were able to connect the dogs to their families, one is in the hospital in Seattle.

March 3

Check that off the bucket list.  Saw a BB King concert in Seattle.  His group included 8 musicians, drums, keyboards, bass guitar, guitar, 2 trumpeter players, 2 saxophone players, which one played the flute, too.  And of course, the star BB and Lucille.  There all wore tuxedos.
BB talked a fair bit, and featured his musicians, quite a lot.  His voice is still as sound as every and his playing with Lucille is strong.  What an amazing man at 88 years old.  There is lots of respect between him and his musicians.  His memory may be fading a bit, as he wanted to play You are my Sunshine, but the band leader said, we played it earlier.
It was an opportunity to salute my Dad on his birthday and to remember not too wait on the bucket list items.
Scott and Suzanne with birthdays on March 4, came for dinner and the concert.  We had a lovely dinner with time to visit.  I stayed in Seattle, had a nice breakfast, and then home

Today

Sixteen years ago, today little Nicole arrived into the world.  She was loved.  Her time in this world was short, as she will be in our hearts, always 10 1/2 years old, a fifth grader who played soccer.  Love you, miss you, Happy Birthday Nicole.
